Brock is an iconic store in the heart of Toulouse.
Since 2007, Brock Store, located in the historic heart of Toulouse at 16 Rue Jacques Cujas, has become a true institution. Known to all Toulousains, it has established itself over the years as an iconic landmark of the city. The transition from Brock & Roll to the more refined Brock marked the beginning of our collaboration to refresh the store’s visual identity. Our goal was to bring a contemporary touch while preserving its original essence. Typography became the cornerstone of this evolution: a modern serif was chosen for the wordmark, headings, and sub-headings, embodying elegance and heritage, while a monospaced typeface was introduced as a secondary element — used for all details and practical information — to create contrast and balance. This pairing creates a subtle dialogue between tradition and modernity. In harmony with this typographic approach, a carefully curated color palette brings depth to the identity. Warm kraft and light gray set the foundation, reflecting the store’s shift from vintage charm to a more refined, contemporary aesthetic. Accents of light blue, inspired by denim, along with vibrant yellow and orange, referencing accessories, add energy and mirror the variety of products found in-store. We also developed a graphic system around the letter O from Brock, deconstructed into parentheses to symbolize openness and the continuous arrival of new brands. Finally, inspired by the store’s distinctive façade, square shapes were integrated into the system — echoing the geometric rhythm of monospaced typefaces and reinforcing the connection between all elements of the visual language.
